Sam was only shown on three occasions in the UK. At his first show, Hound Association 1995 he won the Junior Dog class under bred specialist Jean Elliott Jones.
He went over to Sweden the same year, to be campaigned by Rosemarie Hartwig, gaining his Swedish & Norwegian titles. Having a wonderful show career, he has also been very influential in the breed in Sweden as a sire. Sam is at the back of many basset pedigrees in Sweden.
