Welcome to the Basset Hounds Database for Judges, Challenge Certificates &Champions 1950 to 2013


This Database has been assembled using the Kennel Club Stud Books 1950 to 2013.

The Records are complete from 1950 to 2013 and are presented in four distinct formats.

1.    *The Judges Records*- An alphabetical listing of all the Judges that have awarded Challenge Certificates over the years, including where & when they judged and their principle winners. In essence if you want to know who gave what to whom or who got what from whom’ it is recorded under the above heading.

2    *The Champions list*-With 182 Champion dogs & 242 Champion bitches being made up since 1950. This list in alphabetical order shows of all Basset Hound dogs & bitches that have been awarded the Title of Champion since 1950 to 2013

3    *The Society Records*- An alphabetical listing of all of the Societies and Breed Clubs that have held Championship Shows where CC’s were on offer for the Breed including the year, who judged and the CC, RES CC & BOB awarded.

4    The Rankings-With 2801 Challenge Certificates being awarded since 1950 in dogs & bitches. 308 individual dogs being awarded CC's & 435 bitches up to the end of 2013. Where does each winner sit relative to each other? – This section of the Database provides the following:

Here you will find Affix ranking lists for *Champions bred by Affix*, *Challenge Certificates won by Affix* these lists have been broken down into Dogs, Bitches & Dogs & Bitches combined.

The number of *Dogs & Bitches having won a Challenge Certificate* from 1950 to 2013, total 743, Here you can find where they stand numerically.

Please note Reserve Challenge Certificates were not recorded in the KC stud book until 1978 so do not appear before that date.

Where no entry appears against DCC, RES DCC, BCC or RES BCC or BOB- the award was withheld or subsequently disqualified by the Kennel Club.

The judges records have been tided so all judges sit alphabetical. This has been done as over the years some judges have been known by different names ie Mr. P Freer or Mr Phil Freer.
