Wildair had a great start to his show career, finishing top puppy 1986 and going Reserve Best Puppy in Show at Border Counties Hound 1986 under hound specialist the late Betty Farrand. He won his first CC at Border Union 1988 under top hound judge and breed specialist the late George Johnston. His second came at Driffield the same year under breed specialist Sue Pocock. Wildair gained his title at Hound Association Scotland 1990 under another breed specialist Jean Elliott Jones. His fourth CC and possible most memorable was at Crufts 1991 under breed specialist the late Jean Rowett Johns.
